PM Lee's national day rally he said:
Another three major lines are coming along. First, the Downtown
Line, which comes down from Bukit Timah and also from the East
Coast; secondly, the Thomson Line which comes down from
Sembawang and will ease the pressure on the
North-South Line; and thirdly, the Eastern Region Line, which will
go through Marine Parade and come down to town and ease the
pressure on East-West Line.
