Train services were disrupted at stations between Woodlands and
Yishun in the southbound direction for about an hour on the Vesak
Day afternoon of 28 May 2010. This was due to a track incident at
Sembawang Station.
About 7,300 commuters were affected when a man was hit by a
train. He was pronounced dead at the scene around 11.30am.
To maintain service on the unaffected stretches of the
North-South line during the incident, all southbound trains were
turned around at Woodlands MRT Station.
Some northbound trains were also turned around at Yishun MRT
Station.
To ease traffic, SMRT deployed bus bridging services to ferry
passengers between Woodlands and Yishun MRT stations during the
disruption. Adapted from wikipedia
