SMRT Corporation reported revenue of S$224.7m (+2.6% YoY, -2.1%
QoQ) and net profit of S$39.2m (-4.8% YoY, -25.7% QoQ) for its
3QFY10, broadly in line with our quarterly estimates. For the
upcoming quarter, SMRT expects revenue to grow YoY, driven by
higher train ridership and fees for overseas projects. With 11 more
CCL stations scheduled to open on 17 April, ridership from this
stretch of 16 stations (including five existing CCL stations which
have been in operation since last May) is also expected to jump to
200k commuters, up from just over 30k for the first five stops in
last November. We continue to iterate that the CCL is likely to
bring SMRT to another level of growth as the group captures higher
train ridership from the progressive opening of the CCL
stations.
