Huge winds generated by MRT trains?!

not sure if u guys experience this before, but in underground stations, it seems that when the outer doors close, there's this really huge gust of strong wind that just blows out from the doors or something......

can anyone explain?! i'm not sure if all underground stations have this effect, but tanjong pagar mrt which i use everyday seems to have it.

if you want to experience, then around 6:30 PM, wait there for half an hour and i can guarantee you'll experience it a few times at least.

the wind is comparable to very strong beach winds......something like a wind tunnel with immense winds blown into it.

not sure if this is due to the mrt propulsion system?!!!! maybe some expert can clear this thing up. the wind is strong enough to destroy your gatsby hairstyle.

The large mass of wind that the train displaces when it arrives in the station has to go somewhere. Initially it would go to the front and back of the tunnels, but the train doors open and the wind is diverted into the many openings in the station.

btw, for those of you out there who say the smell is nice, i think u better be careful not to breathe in too much because that wind contains dust particles from the train and tunnel.......not sure how come you guys say the smell is nice, but when i smell it, it's more like rusted rubber / steel that kind of industrial smell.

i'm saying these stuff for the good of you guys, because i don't want you guys to get strange illnesses due to inhaling such particles......long-term, nobody can guarantee what might happen, ok? things are never certain in life. Do u know that people who operate the printers (those office-sized printers) have high chances of getting cancer?

of course, it's ok if people get strange illnesses and science has medicine to cure it, but as mentioned in my other topic, we currently have no cure for the increasing number of new illnesses nowadays due to absolute goon-doos working in our labs, so better be safer than sorry.
