At around 2.05pm today (10 Apr), trainset 201/202 overshot its
tracks at EW23 Clementi MRT towards Pasir Ris.
Just before it stopped, a few loud hisses were heard as the air
were released from the brakes in a few attempts to stop but the
train still overshot. The doors did not open , preventing
passengers from departing or alighting at the station, and the
train remained for a while before proceeding to EW22 Dover.
Passengers who were heading to Clementi enjoyed an extra workout
on Good Friday as they had to walk down and up the
staircase/elevator to the other platform, given that Dover station
has side platforms.
It was not ascertained as to whether the Siemens train had been
set to CM mode prior to the incident
