The Land Transport Authority has awarded a contract to design
and build an MRT station at Beauty World to an Australian firm.
The $340 million deal will go to McConnell Dowell SEA, the
second civil contract awarded for Downtown Line stage 2.
The construction firm will also be responsible for the tunnels
associated with the station.
Located along Upper Bukit Timah Road, the station at Beauty
World will double up as a Civil Defence shelter.
Construction is scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2009
and is expected to complete in 2015.
