Its LTA/PWD/MRTC's poor planning. The whole MRT system
(including NEL) is over utilised. They failed to realise that the
actual number of passengers is higher than the projected ones (ie
they dint give any extra allowances). Thats why you get a 6 car
train instead of an 8 car train, trains which stop every station
instead of having clear distinction between local and express
trains. This however would mean that the bus can still compete with
the train.
worse still, the 2 MRT projects coming up have only 3-car
trains. CCL and DTL
