i heard it's cos the delay caused by the collapse of nicoll highway meant they practically had no deadline to meet to complete so they literally took their own sweet time to build. Laughing

the earliest stage 2 could open is if stage 3 (or stage 1) opens, so u see the link. yes, we are talking assuming SMRT wakes up their idea and not open the whole line at once.

I think some time back in the papers it was mentioned that stage 2 is delayed because of the area around Dakota station. IF I'm not wrong, after the Nicoll Highway Accident, LTA checked all the construction sites and I think there was a lot of soil movement around Dakota, so they stopped work for a bit. Not too sure though, correct me if I'm wrong.

actually, i don't think they want to extend the current southern terminus of NSL, marina bay to marina view, just because they want to make it the terminus for CCL. think reason is because they want to extend the mrt system to the marina view area.

Now there's another sign on the other side of the road (near the Boonview condo) saying that the reinstatement for the other side of the road will begin on 8/8/07. The two station entrances are now about half done and look very nice.

I supposed that Stage 3 will be completed by end of this year as I knew Stage 3 is the fastest being constructed than the rest stages. Correct me if I am wrong abt this. Very Happy

For Bishan station, the new ticketing office is ready (but not in use yet) and the new southbound platform is taking shape. The last time I went to the interchange side (abt 1-2 weeks ago) to look at the other station entrance, it had not taken shape yet.

anyone got notice the changed made at Serangoon station?

there was some works being done at one of the exits... cant remember which letter but the outside is yello colour. since last year it was closed for circle line works and reopened a few weeks ago...

but the thing is it looks exactly the same as before... anyone knows what works are they? underpass linkway to the new station?

I am not sure if the stated opening date of CCL Stage 2 and 3 from Wikipedia is confirmed or not.

Look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Singapore_MRT_stations#ref_Openg

It said CCL Stage 3 will open in October 2008, then followed by Stage 2 in December 2008.

LTA's CCL page is pretty out-of-dated...

Wikipedia can be edited by anybody, which means the article should not be taken as a reliable source. The information may be an intelligent guess on the person's part, or the person may be working for LTA/SMRT/whatever. But I personally don't think this info is accurate, as SMRT mentioned perviously in a news article that stages 2 & 3 are 'not likely to open so soon due to limited commuters'.From what I remember, the article also said stages 2&3 would most probably open with stage 1.

It is true that Stage 2 and 3 only be opened together with Stage 1 at the same time since the tunnel at Nicoll Highway is missing.

From what I know, whenever anyone is editing the article, it has to go through verification or quality control from Wikipedia team before the updated content will be approved and displayed. But it seemed sounding too good to be true or accurate since it has been displayed already.

Well, just wait and see how. I hope LTA will update their out-of-dated CCL page as well as adding new DTL page. Rolling Eyes
