Actually, do you really think there will be a seperate Bugis Station and a Rochor station? Confused

I believe DTL Bugis will be situated below Rochor Rd south of EWL Bugis. Then one of new exits of the combined station may go utilise the car parks in the area. Or maybe they will simply be used only during the construction and reinstated after that. In any case, the car parks are an indication that the land is state reserved.

And yes, there's the discussion on Skyscrapercity about the fact that Downtown Line is abbreviated "DD" on the legends but DT on the map. Laughing

You mean there will be underground linkway between DTL Bugis and DTL Rochor?

As you mentioned of your belief that DTL Bugis is under carpark which is at "Station Position A" shown in the map, then the distance between DTL Bugis (Position A) and DTL Rochor obviously is the shortest. It will become the shortest ever in Singapore's rail transportation, taking over between NEL Chinatown and NEL Clarke Quay.

So for DTL Bugis (Station Position B), I think the linkway between EWL Bugis and DTL Bugis will be much longer than the linkway between NEL and NSL Dhoby Ghaut.

There's one option: Demolish Kg Glam CC and put the station box between Sites A and B.

Rochor could be slightly further, utilising the empty land adjacent to Sim Lim Square. This should be a difficult one to do with the canals around. Laughing

Hmmm... if it is to be built under land adjacent to Sim Lim Square, I guess there will not have the interchange for Rochor cos it will be difficult to construct the tunnel along DTL Stage 3 so Rochor only serve DTL Stage 2.

Well, just wait for LTA to announce more details on DTL Stage 2 and Stage 3. Mr. Green

thats the shortest meh? i thought the shortest is (CCL) dhoby ghaut to Bras Basah? its less than 2 bus stops apart!

actually most of CCL have stations within close proximity of each other

won't be so soon, north shore line is meant to link towns in the north eg. Woodlands, Yishun, Punggol/ Sengkang, Pair Ris etc. right now there's little development between these towns and bus links between them (39, 85, 161, 168, 965, 969) are available. so wait long long for north shore line to be built. won't be before 2012 anyway.

erm not sure if anyone stayin near the construction site for the circle line noticed cracks and erm stuff at the nearby hdb?

i was at 1 of the estates nxt to the circle line construction site

there was cracks at many places... in the block... den some of the blocks got these walls added on some time recently (meaning no foundation for these walls lar) den hor got some hor like dislodge liddat leh Shocked

small ones are like 1 inch off, bigger ones are like a few inches off

wat if the walls suddenly decide to give way?

soil in Sg is very soft in some areas. cracks is due to the settling of the soil, according to LTA.
whether what they say is reliable or not i dont know wor. if the wall gives way it would have given way a long time ago. lets just hope it doesnt.
note that some KPE construction sites also got. seriously digging tunnels in Sg not easy, if u read geography ur geog teacher may have told u. bukit timah is hard granite, then kallang that area is soft sedimentary rock etc etc. probably u talking abt payar lebar that side the soil very soft, so buildings nearby prone to cracks.
and if those walls have held on for so long hopefully can hold on until the soil settles down. whether its really dangerous or not only the folks at LTA know.

i fail my geography at lower sec... n i took history instead at upper sec Very Happy

so all those stuff i dunno de..... but i saw some ppl doin those diggin stuff cos "..water pipe burst" [heard frm someone i noe] water pipe burst... den those add on walls crack n go out of place n stuff...

i wonder if they will ask the nearby residents to evacuate if cracks starts appearing on the main pillars of the block?
