I miss old annoucements SG

The MRT in the 1990s did not have in train annoucements. Just 3 beeps to signal Doors Closing. Trains were logoless in that time.

1990- NSL and EWL completed.

1994- Siemens C651 cars introduced

1996- Woodland extention opens for service

1997-1999- In train annoucements added

1999- First C751B on passenger service

Early 2000: C751B train (311/312) entered into passenger service for first time

I think only the stretch from Yio Chu Kang to Toa Payoh opened for service in 1987.

I remember my very first MRT ride. Think it was the very late 80s or 1990.

It went so quickly I got sick!

And really cold in the underground tunnel.

All of us boarded from the central station and afterwards, when the Simei station opened, we paid a dollar to visit.

Each car have 2 logos on each side. So total of 4 ea car. You cannot say dun have. The big silver piece of logo with SMRT is paste of ea DT car cab end.

The stations are still there but if you want a quiet ride, take the last few trains at night which are sure to have very few people.

Love the past when trains look more like trains, no advertisments on the outside... If ask me about announcements or adverts, I rather do away with adverts.

Announcements are just according to the time and the fashion... If the company deem that new fashion require new voices then let it be no choice...

Japan uses real life voices, its just dependent on the line and the area...

I kinda like real conductor read announcements, more of that relation there, instead of machine sounds...

Manager433, there is a sticker about announcements on the driver's panel, about the greetings and so on right? Sad few TO follow those... Lazy is the killer of all...

Its ok if its Juanita Melson reading the annoucements but I would rather have it totally off if its that awful new voice.
