If you want to listen to Juanita’s voice, look for related videos from this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoOwrk_wMPs

If u are in a NSL train bound for Marina Bay… when train reaches Kranji station, the annoucement of Going to Johor Bahru wih SMRT service 950 looks different from the usual, the new annoucement include the timing of 950 but the usual one doesn’t have the timing annouced.

MsSwanLover SG

Hope that This is just a POLY project. I hate the announcement. Sound so weird. LOL

Scania SG

The stations also have them since around 2 weeks ago, heard one at DBG (the 999 one).

kawasaki2 SG

Tell that to Manager433.

kawasaki2 SG

Who’s the person making the announcement messages? I mean, who’s the talking one.

SMRT Buses SG

Anyone has the “doors closing” announcement & chime? I’m currently looking for it…thanks

ignoramuses SG

I assume you mean the old one, since the new one is provided in the links above already. Smile

Boarded train 207/208. It has this new announcement too.

So I guess this is the new standard then, if not why try out on so many trains.

If so, what made them decide to change the old one? Refresh SMRT's image? Refresh the travelling experience? Smile

Superbus SG

Eeks! Reminds me of the announcements on PUTRA LRT (or the Kelana Jaya Line) in KL.

^tamago^ SG

Yes! But they should take out that irritating buzzer at the end of it. Mad

"Stesyen berikut, KLCC! Next station, KLCC!" Laughing

DMC05 SG

Stesen berikutnya. Wink

Scania SG

Sound more like a Jap making English annoucement for JR West.

^tamago^ SG

yes thanks. i can't figure out what that slang-ish word at the end means even though i've been hearing it so often. what does nya means ah?

TIB433S SG

Yes I agree, they should revert back to the old voice once the project is over. Well, the new voice and the bell just dont fit together. The old bell and voice had a certain meaning to Singapore. The new SMRT voice and bell just feels cheap, like 7-Eleven and its not nice to hear anymore. SIGH! If only SMRT gave out cds of Juanita Melson's voice of all the 50+ SMRT stations...

^tamago^ SG

I actually prefer the new one, and I mean, change that buzzer as well. Everything new. Poll anyone? Laughing

Oceane SG

The new buzzer sounds really stupid. Rolling Eyes

And for the announcement regarding suspicious articles... there's a very distinct attempt by the person making the announcement to try to produce the pronounciations correctly... the sound she makes all so obvious! Laughing

But still I prefer the old one... I believe most of us would, because we've been hearing it for the past "X" years and to change to a new one... well... not very suited for us lah. Rolling Eyes

ignoramuses SG

As much as I miss the old one, people are starting to ignore them because its become so old.

The change to newer announcements is good, it freshens up the atmosphere, and the new buzzer alerts you more, though I agree they should have made the buzzer sound better and the announcements sound better.

C751B SG

Why don't they try making annuoncements in four languages?
This is far better than making that minor but useless change. Cool

ignoramuses SG

They mentioned that before. They said that would confuse us.

Like hell lor what a stupid reason. Evil or Very Mad
