SINGAPORE : Train journeys on the North East Line were disrupted
on Wednesday evening.
SBS Transit said services affected were those between
HarbourFront and Outram Park MRT stations and between Dhoby Ghaut
and Little India MRT stations.
A MediaCorp Hotline caller said a staff member at the Outram
Park station announced that there would be a 25—minute delay. The
caller said many commuters were waiting at the station.
SBS Transit said the disruptions were caused by two power
trips.
The first started at 6.34pm and this affected the line between
HarbourFront and Outram Park stations.
The second began at 6.53pm and this time the line between Dhoby
Ghaut and Little India stations was affected.
In both cases, trains still ran but they were delayed because
precautionary measures were taken to check the rail line.
SBS Transit said the longest delay passengers experienced was 17
minutes. — CNA/ms
