tintinspartan,
Nice to see you are working on such a project. I read the KTM
forums and heard you were working on KTM stock from 1986 to present
day. I happened to have done this last year albeit incomplete. I
upgraded my Trainz version from UTC to TRS 2004 a few months back
and have stopped work on the coaches permanently, however i have
files of the old skins (some a bit messy lah). Please notify me if
you would like a copy of these skins.
Skins include
ABC, AFC, AEC, E-PLUS, ASC, TC and SK2 (Selun Khas 2) in their
different liveries.
Now for some advice. I saw the youtube videos and would like to
commend you on your work. However, Trainz Paintshed (the medium you
are currently using) is not the only method of reskinning or
skinning trains and coaches. Notice that in the folder for your
custom train in (C:/Program Files/Auran/Trainz/World), the skin you
created in Paintshed is in a bmp file. This basically means that
you can edit the skin in MS Paint. But mind you, it is a long and
tedious process which involves pixel-by-pixel work.(presuming you
want to produce accurate models)
I used this medium to create all the coaches i listed above. you
can search the KTM forum for pics of these coaches.
As I have said, you can use MS Paint to create advanced skins.
Which means you can create an SMRT train as well in its original
livery. It gets even better if you have real photos of the train
itself because you can just cut and paste onto the bmp file.
If you want to, you can download content from Auran's DLS and
create the SMRT route if you'd like to. It's just a suggestion but
i think it would be really good if you could.
Good Luck,
lam_sheng_hong
P.S. This my first post, sorry if have any grammar errors or if the
message above is not clear.
