I don't understand the NEL question, cos Buangkok, Kovan, Serangoon, Woodleigh and Potong Pasir Stations are also underneath roads. Kovan, Serangoon, Woodleigh and Potong Pasir stations are underneath Upper Serangoon Rd.

I do believe that there are more than one Happy Birthday Singapore trains, unless you are not talking about the rainbow colored one. It shouldn't be that coincidental to see it nearly everytime at the same station and bearing in mind that I dint take trains frequently.

All stations in the NEL are built underground, as we all know. However, all NEL stations except Punggol are built below ground level (Be it under a house, under an explosive or whatever). The unique feature of Punggol is that it was built directly beneath a road (Somewhere near the Heartlands of Punggol) and furthermore, a box station was built beneath the NEL platforms to serve as provisions for the future North Shore Line.

So imagine 3 layers of transport built directly on top of another... You can guess how strong the soil is.

Even so, there are 4 other NEL stations which are also directly underneath roads. These 4 have the whole of their station concourse and platforms underneath roads, while Punngol only has part of its platform underneath a road.
