its extremely embarassing that such incidents do exists, prob
typical only in Singapore i believe. and now still need to teach
people how to use escalators! its really shameful, esp when these
accidents even happen on adults; who are supposed to teach their
kids the proper behaviour but look at them???
The gaps in Singapore's MRT system are considered very narrow,
level and safe to use as compared to many rail systems worldwide.
Even for Melbourne(Australia), the platform gaps for Suburban train
system are much wider and at different levels, esp on curved train
platforms. Same goes its the regional train system. Then, I've
never heard of peoples' legs got trapped between gaps! and what abt
train systems in 3rd world countries? overcrowding, vehicles
without doors and even pax climbing onto the trains and buses roof
top for travel! and worse still, the roads over there are far more
rocky and uneven! then, dont we see many people falling off the bus
roof while travelling, etc etc??
