AP Problem?

i think some of the NE line MRT AP system start to have problem alreadly....

yesterday...

i took the 10:0X train back to harborfront.

then when Reaching the Boon keng stop, the train speed was faster than the supposed speed.

so the AP system did a Mini-Jam brake. the Doors were all out of alignment...and was unable to open. after about 5 seconds, the AP system kicked in and reversed a bit before braking again. when it braked again, i saw what was written on the Screen"reversal XXXXXX XXXXX" then it went back to normal screen mode.

SMRT should really monitor these AP systems....scarli one of these days the AP system run past 1 stop without stopping...then ho sae liao for SMRT....

unless it happens very regularly i dun think it is a prob. such problems occur every now and then new or old.

I had been in a train once where i was stop somewere in between Boon Keng and PP for abt 10 plus mins. due to some fault or something. but eveything was ok.

Why blamed SMRT? NEL is under SBS Transit Management wad.

We all already knew that NEL is operated by SBS Transit but I am wondering why you used SMRT? Confused

I think you should give your feedback to SBS Transit instead of pointing out all problem at SMRT mistakenly. Rolling Eyes

erm... abit no link huh? besides i think SMRT's AP is better than NEL...
even NEL took 3 months to settle the over-running problem before it opened... even in some parts of the travel can tell it had such problems... take the stretch jus before reaching boon keng going towards harbourfront for example... the train rolls constantly, suddenly speeds up and brakes jus as it pulls into book keng stn...

plus the only time i've seen over-running by SMRT trains is during peak hour at manual mode...

Hmm quite agreeable that overruns would normally occur when manual operations are in, well, operation, but I guess the auto systems will also do necessary adjustments, but during several stretchs of the line the trains will either run very fast (Woodleigh, at least 80km/h pass station) and slow (before Serangoon stn).

every night 10.30pm from serangoon towards harbourfront will also be manually driven. i think is their training time. Laughing

they go past Woodleigh at most 70 km/h... NEL trains only have max speed of 75km/h... last time everybody say they can travel at 90 to 100km/h is talk cock only...

trains run slower at Sgoon area as precautionary measures due to adjacent CCL construction works which involve major excavation and tunnelling works.

SBS Transit NEL system are fully computerised and hence much more complex as compared to the more conventional system on SMRT Trains. That's why there seems to be several faults occuring on the NEL system during the first few years of operation. but i believe will gradually improve and stabilise over the years.
