taipei to tsoying (at the suburbs of kaohsiung) is 345km, how
can cover in 20mins?
the current 8-station line will eventually become a 12-station
line, and the next station south of tsoying will be kaohsiung. in
the future, the kaohsiung mass rapid transit system will also
terminate at tsoying, as this station will be the transportation
hub for the metropolitan area of kaohsiung.
most journeys will take 2 hours as it will stop at every stop, but
3 limited express services will be operated at around 7am, 5pm and
9pm in both directions (6 trips a day) that will only take 90 mins,
stopping only at taichung station.
indeed, they are marrying japanese rolling stocks with germany
signalling systems, because of some stupid agreement. if it were a
turnkey project organised solely by KHI, it'd have been faster and
won't need so much testing.
