today's the straits times. poor ridership at buangkok station since opening day.

only abt 1683 passengers a day. estimated only 700 people use the station, assuming a passenger boards and alights frm a train there.

7am-9am, people who are alighting there mostly are going to SBST NEL depot, Sengkang Fire Station and Institute of Mental Health.

SBST estimated 2500-3500 ppl wud use the station. 1683 passengers a day is a far cry frm their estimation.

means yeah.. about 700 ppl used it.

See... residents complain and complain.. 2nd day of operations already super negative.. insult to SBS!

maybe ppl using buangkok to pay surcharge!

700 ppl in 18 hours, means on average 40-50 ppl/ hour.. or 2 people from every train alights in both directions.

Some Body have to prove that Some One is RIGHT about keeping the station close.

The best way is through providing figures.

The passenger rate will not make the company lost money cos they can shamelessly ask for more fare increase by citing the white elephant station as a REASON.

Did any one from the bus company complain when they are making more than 100% profit and 0% increase in bus frequency last year ???

I take frm dere lah Mr. Green Veri gd,my 201 is currently e nearest exsiting block.

But actually, frm e sengkang side of existing HDB flats,its is located veri close to sengkang Mrt or nearer ,thus ppl would rather board at sengkang or alight dere due to need to makan,or shop at compass point mah.So existing sengkang ppl unlikely to alight dere,only hougang ppl.

i just realised.. if 1386 transactions are done in Tampines in 30mins, but this takes 18 hrs in buangkok.... MAN, BUANGKOK SUCKS! Laughing

Buangkok was up due to poor housing planning

Have anyone bothered to see they are badly affected by higher fuel prices? Have they realised they themselves are the biggest causes for bus delays by not moving in or giving way to buses on the roads?
