Efficient SMRT staff flushed out flasher
Today

Letter from Wong Yu Yen
On Wednesday evening, on my way home, an elderly man flashed his
private parts to me on the train.
I was shocked. I thought he might have forgotten to zip up, so I
observed him before raising the alarm. I saw him cover himself with
two plastic bags when another man sat down two seats away from
me.
After the train had passed Ang Mo Kio Station, the elderly man
moved to sit between two women.
Not long after, the woman on his right suddenly stood up and gave
him a disgusted look before alighting from the train. This time, I
was certain he was up to no good.
I alerted the SMRT staff at Yishun Station. Within 15 minutes, I
was told they had caught a suspect at Woodlands matching the
description I had given. They also reported this incident to the
police.
I was very impressed with the SMRT staff who were efficient and
handled the situation so professionally.
I thank them for keeping me company while I was waiting for the
police to arrive so I could give my statement.
