It is interesting to note that these companies like google,
yahoo and facebook founders are either universities geek or those
people who make their success by getting funding or capital from
Silicon Valley. However the problem was that in the past, even if
these company don't make profit, all they have to do is to expand
their client base and they can still manage very well, therefore
they had a "golden" rule created for themselves "Get Large Or Get
Lost".
Eventually during the 2000s, when the Federal Reserve increase
their interest rate and the economy began to slow, that when the
"dot.net" bubble burst and except for stable company like amazon,
many dot.net companies become "dot.bomb", Excite is one of them who
didn't make it. That why in the end, people rather trust things
like high-yield corporate bonds, commodity like gold, equities like
real estate investment trusts, or Reits and maybe currencies
because they are more reliable in long run.
