If you cannot control your own expenditures and track it well,
you better not own a credit card and enjoy the discounts that come
together with most of it.
Example, Standard Chartered card had a promotion a month plus
ago, where they give u $100 for each card you signed up. Max was 4
cards, so I got $400 to spend. Maybank did it two years ago.
And I heard HSBC cards give free movie tickets each month subjected
to a limit. It's easy to clear the money by paying for phone bills
much earlier.
Even more recently, if you spend $1.2k on a DBS credit card on a
weekend, you get to exchange a free camcorder. It's easy to spend
that amount on necesscities or home upgrading.
Then again, as I have said, if you cannot maintain basic
discipline on expenditure control, don't sign up for a credit card
as the interests will kill you.
