This is clearly stated in some ,if not all, structed investments
that
principal will not be protected!!
DBS High Notes 2 is not principal protected. Minimum investment
is S$25,000. DBS High Notes 2 will accrue interest
daily at the rate of 4% p.a. for the first 3 1/2 years and at an
increased rate of 5% p.a. for the remaining years in the
event that DBS High Notes 2 is not redeemed early by the Issuer at
the end of 3 1/2 years. 2 The performance of DBS
High Notes 2 is linked to a basket of
8 international and regional banks, each with a minimum
rating of A- by Standard
& Poor’s (as at 31 March 2006). Your principal and the interest
earned on your principal could be
adversely affected if
a Credit Event occurs. 3 The Issuer has the right but is not
obliged to redeem DBS High Notes 2 at the end of 3 1/2 years.
If DBS High Notes 2 is
redeemed by the Issuer under the terms and conditions of DBS High
Notes 2 and no Credit
Event
occurs, you would receive a total payout of 14% over 3 1/2
years.

pl note u will receive "If" redemed by issuer and "no Credit
Event"..
I am pity for those vulerable investors.
But they and other knowledgable investors must cool down
and review the incidents.
When they signed on the dotted lines, they were supposed to
enjoy
returns of few hundred % higher
than fixed deposits!!
FD then was not more than 1.5% vs their few % return pa,
payable in quarterly.
So,out of $700 billions deposits in SG,0.5 b or 500 millions
plus
were invested in these now known as poisoned investments
by retails investors.
Then all these were treated as honey.
Do u think the owners of the remainder of the $700 billionswere
were
so stupid ?
They choose to take interest a fraction of proposed returns
of the Mini bonds or High note series.
Now u know who is stupid?
As mom told u,u must be careful if
anythings too good to
be true.U must forgot your parents
advices!!
In 2006 ,2007 and up to Lehman Bro fails,no one'
will think Credits Event would happen.
Even investors of these failed investmenst understands the risks
when they
bought the ivestments one or 2 years ago,
they would think the chance would be very very low!!
How can those giants, bigger than many small and medium
countries,
can fail?Now,they did fail!!
