In terms of pay and the max level you can go (in terms of career), a lot of companies still emphasise on your education level. Unfortunately, SG companies are quite practical in that aspect, and even if a poly grad outperforms a U grad, at the end of the day... his pay cap will never be higher than the Uni grad.

I read a "study" on this....

They said that the "rate of return" of an education is positive all the way until a Bachelor Degree....

If you study Masters level and above, the cost of education and income/experience forgone is actually more expensive then any potential rise in earnings in the future....

Their whole week goes like this: Mon, Wed, Fri.. have to knock off on-the-dot from work, to attend lessons. Tues, Thu gotta work OT to complete stuff they couldn't finish on time. Sat and Sun is for doing assignments..

During exams, have to take no pay leave to study...

Carry on like this for 2 to 4 years... quite no life.. but that's the price to pay. Rolling Eyes

I'm in the Electronics Engr line. I've seen Masters in Electronic Engr doing sales before.. I mean those positions used to be occupied by deploma holders lohz..

For engr, PhD's are even more difficult to get jobs.. The only place is in R&D. Otherwise, ppl will find you over qualied and dun dare to give you a job. But then again., SG not much coys doing r&d already.. Rolling Eyes
