ERP rates
lowered at various gantries for December school holidays
SINGAPORE: The Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) rates at various
gantries will be lowered in view of the December school holidays,
the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said in a news release on Monday
(Nov 16).
LTA said in line with the new ERP rate adjustment of S$1 per
Passenger Car Unit (PCU), ERP rates at the following roads and
expressways during the specified time periods will be reduced by
S$1. For gantries where the current ERP rate is S$0.50, the rate
will be reduced by S$0.50.
The revised rates will apply from Saturday (Nov 21) to Dec 31
this year. The rates will revert to the pre-school holiday period
from Jan 2, 2016, said LTA.
The rates for the other gantries will remain unchanged and the
next ERP rate review will take place in February 2016 for the first
quarterly rate review of year 2016.
SHORTER VEP HOURS FOR DECEMBER HOLIDAYS
During the same school holiday period, the Vehicle Entry Permit
(VEP) will end earlier at 12 noon on weekdays.
Drivers of foreign-registered cars and motorcycles need not pay
any VEP fees for the day if they drive into Singapore after 12pm
and leave by 2am the following day on weekdays during this period,
said LTA.
VEP fees remain non-chargeable on Saturdays, Sundays and
Singapore Public Holidays, it added. The reduced VEP is part of
initiatives to attract foreign visitors to Singapore, especially
during the school holidays.
All motorists driving foreign-registered vehicles should ensure
their Autopass cards are valid for use at Woodlands and Tuas
Checkpoints, said LTA.
