To facilitate the road construction works at Tampines Road near
the Tampines Flyover, the traffic between the Tampines Expressway
(TPE) and Tampines Road will be diverted permanently to a new
access road between Defu Flyover and Tampines Flyover on 23 June
2007.
The existing road connection between Tampines Road and Tampines
Expressway will be removed with the opening of the new access
road.
* Motorists are advised to take note of the following changes when
traveling to and from the TPE from 23 Jun 2007:-
* Motorists from Hougang New Town / Upper Serangoon Road, heading
to the TPE should turn left at the new road junction at Defu
Flyover/Tampines Road.
* Motorists from Hougang New Town /Upper Serangoon Road, heading to
the (Old) Tampines Road / Tampines Ave 10 will not be
affected
* Motorists from the TPE, heading to Hougang New Town / Upper
Serangoon Road should exit TPE at the Tampines Flyover and travel
to Tampines Road via the new access road.
* Motorist from the TPE, heading to the (Old) Tampines road should
exit TPE at Tampines Ave 10
* U-turns will not be allowed at the traffic junction and motorists
can made use of the existing U-turn further down along Tampines
Road.
* The traffic from Lorong Halus can only turn left to the TPE as
the slip road will be converted to one-way. Motorist traveling from
Lorong Halus should note that they can not make a right turn to
Tampines Road via Tampines Flyover from 23 Jun 07 onwards.
* A new signalised junction at Defu Flyover/Tampines Road will be
commissioned at 10.00 am on the 23 Jun 2007.
Road signs will be erected along the new access road to help guide
motorists.
