Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele
has poured cold water on claims of a rift in the Blues
dressing-room - saying the reports are "lies
There had been rumours that the French midfielder and striker
Didier Drogba had met with boss Jose Mourinho to discuss Michael
Ballack's (lack of) contribution since his arrival at Stamford
Bridge in the summer.
But Makelele is quoted in the Daily Star as saying: "These reports
are lies. Most people who know me, and who know Didier, would say
we are not the type of players to talk in the papers.
"It's daft. Michael Ballack knows that we have solidarity, we're
all together, the whole squad, the whole team, so there's nothing
in that."
Makelele has also played down talk of a crisis at the club -
despite a six-point deficit to leaders Manchester United after just
one win in their last five Premiership games.
"It's true we're going through a very difficult time," said
Makelele. "We're second in the Premiership, in the Champions
League, semi-final of the Carling Cup, in the FA Cup. So for
Chelsea it's not that bad a period.
"We'll get back all the injured players, that's quite a few
players, and then we'll be competitive to fight until the end of
the season for the title."
wheather it is lies or not i still think that ballack is not
contributing as much as he should have contribute
