Petr Cech is grateful to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho for his
support as he battles back from a serious head injury.
Mourinho revealed last week that nine members of his Chelsea squad
are guaranteed a place in his team when fit. Goalkeeper Cech,
though currently recovering from a fractured skull, was nominated
by Mourinho as one of his key players.
"Of course it pleased me," Cech told Pravo about being included on
Mourinho's list.
"The manager's confidence is the most important thing for a
footballer player.
"I am glad that he still counts on me, although I am currently out
of action."
He added: "We are eight points behind Manchester, but I believe we
will beat Newcastle on Wednesday and cut down the margin to five
points.
"I hope we will erase the gap and that we will have the last
laugh."
