2005
Korean most popular idol-singer Rain who has acted in the serial
drama Full House, had become more popular after the serial has
broadcasted in Hong Kong. He had become one of the most exploded
overseas singers in Hong Kong, With his rising popularity, he had
also become the most wanted artistes by Commercial/Advertisement
businessmen.
Next month's visit to Hong Kong
Oriental Daily News has received a reliable news that shortly after
Rain had been invited to join PEPSI to be its No.1 spokesman, he is
now replacing Taiwan idol Jay Chow, to be DHC's new spokesman, and
will visit Hong Kong as the "mysterious" special guest on 4th
September to attend opening ceremony of DHC's new store at
TsimShaTsui Harbour City. As DHC has been very concerned and
anxious to endorse Rain as their new spokesman, the trip to Hong
Kong next month is kept confidential; in order to give his fans a
surprise.
In addition, despite Rain being a popular Korean idol and very
marketable in Hong Kong, he is actually quite amiable, he does not
demand high price for the endorsements. According to records, Jay
earned HK$3 million as DHC spokesman, and Rain has only asked for
HK$1 million more i.e. HK$4 million plus lots of commercial
promotions.
Clarification with Hong Kong Manager
The reporter called up Rain's Hong Kong manager Ms Chan Ka Ying to
clarify this matter. First the report asked if Rain is coming to
Hong Kong? She happily replied "Yes, later he has something to do
in Hong Kong". Reporter added "Has Rain accepted to shoot DHC's
commercial?" Ms Chan reacted quickly, "How do you know? There's no
way you could know." After that she admitted "Yes!" and quickly
ended the telephone conversation.
And of recent, regarding the the rumour about Rain and Song HaeGyo
buying Hemp (illegal drug) for slimming purposes, he clarified
personally during a Korean TV program, saying "The rumour is not
true. I am very grieve and fear that my fans would believe it, this
has also caused exhaustion to me both physically and
