Confucius did not say woman without virtue is good wad.. He said
women, without talent, is a virtue. Cos confucianism is based on
"li". Something like a hierachy. How should a parent-child
relationship be like? How should a subject treat a soverign? It
places a lot of emphasis on symbolic interaction. IMO, its
something like a segregation of duties. Characteristics like
maternal instincts, the situation at that time etc all plays a
part.
"wei nv ren yu xiao ren nan yang ye". The way i see it is that
girls are hard to understand, and take a certain degree of finesse
to handle. (nv ren xin, hai di zhen. my female friends also stated
that they themselves dunwan wad they want). Xiao ren is
self-explanatory.
that is my opinion on the 2 phrases in question. I am not saying
if its right or wrong. Just my understanding of it.
Women without talent is a virtue is good what has that got to do
with hierachy?
And if women do not have talent how are they going to support
the family?
