Seriously, the only way to curb this problem now is for all the supermarkets to take actions against thosr selfish and inconsiderate people. NTUC Fairprice's soft education approach is a complete failure with no positive results. It can be a $50 fine for first time caught offenders, $100 for second time caught and prosecution for third time and beyond.

Only when the possiblity of facing fines or even prosecution it will deter most if not all of them to do such inconsiderate acts which affects other shoppers.

I would lke to suggest (foc suggestion) to all the supermarkets.

Presently, pple put in $1, that is nothing for the people.

Increase the slot money to $5.

That will make the people think twice before discarding any trolley.

i THINK better is to keep NRIC. not money or watever. People definitely will go back to claim their IC. Like visitor pass like that.

I support this move even though it inconveniences me too, due to the number of irresponsible trolley users, I notice price of daily items at NTUC keep rising, one of the factor is to cover the huge number of lost trolleys. Shame on them. 羊毛出在羊身上。

Sometimes my mom pushes her own trolley (the wet market kind, except she doesn't use it at wet markets since she doesn't go anymore) to supermarkets.

Sometimes she leaves it at one side; other times she pushes it around the supermarket like any other trolley.
