I had created this forum to facilitate the listing of carpools,
especially if you own a car. The main advantage for the
driver in a carpool is that you can get to have
some amount of money to "offset" your car loan, petrol, etc, by
somebody who happen to go to the same place as you!
For non-car owners, this is a very good way to
save your precious time incurred during travelling. There had been
many instances where a person lives in Tampines but lives in Tuas.
Travelling with public transport in such a scenario will take
double the time if you are to take a car. However, many of us
cannot afford a car or to take a taxi everyday.
Hence, carpool is the way to go - it is a win-win situation for
both the driver and the passenger/s. The driver can use the money
collected to offset his loan, etc, whereas the passenger can save a
lot of travelling time and paying a much smaller amount as compared
to a taxi. Moreover, the amount a passenger pays is probably a
little more, if not the same, as if you are to take public
transport!
