Because Singaporeans live in a packed, high-density, high
intensity, urban city.
Because of this, many interpersonal relationships are lacking,
and people tend to be transactional in their relations with others,
instead of personal.
Nothing can be done about that.
"Grace campaign" , "smile campaign" , those things do not touch
the underlying sociological reasons and they wont really change
people's nature and have the desired effect.
If really want people to be gracious, to be kind, polite,
friendly, smiling, first Singapore must be turned into a Bali or
Phuket first, and with rural settings and beach, and low population
density and village living.
Cant be helped.
