dragg SG knn, i borrowed a book from the library titled 'The American'. i was so happy coz i like the author. to my surprised i have actually read the same book but under the title 'Heart of betrayal'. why did the library buy the same book with different titles?
FireIce SG different publisher may name the same piece of work differently or the author may have done some modifications and name it under a different name next time pls read synopsis or author's note first before u borrow
dragg SG you are right but i dont understand the need to buy both the titles when they are actually the same. my understanding from the author's website is that one of the books is for US and the other for UK. i bet the purchaser of the NLB didnt know that too.
dragg SG of course!! the purpose of having multiple copies is to cater to more readers. but what purpose does it serve buying the same book with 2 different titles? i believe the buyer didnt actually know that the 2 books are the same.
The man who was death SG i think it's to cater to ppl who know it as the american and some who know it as the heart of betrayal . if just have one title then ppl go search and find it's not that title then tot it's not what they want.....
sLeEpWaLkErInG SG maybe different titles for distribution in other countries. Maybe some dun like Americans, so another title will help push the sales. Gua Yang Toe Mai Go Rou
