Somewhere far
away there are people listening carefully

Holding up his
towel, he proceeded to the bathroom to have a shower and to hide
from the world, as he always did on tuesday morning, in which he
often was the only one there, with the Saren, the lifeguard for
company.
''Hey Kris,
don't enter the wrong bathroom kay ! '' Saren called after him.
As he strided
into the room, he found himself staring straight ahead at a half
naked guy who was throwing his clothes into his bag. Upon seeing
chris, he ran into the cubicle .
Kris was
surprised as it was the first time he saw someone besides him
swimming so early.
He took no
notice and went on to have his shower .
After he was
done and was about to go home, he noticed that the guy was still
bathing.... he went out and found a fallen sign beside the
bathroom's door
He picked it up
and was horrified to notice that the sign read : Due to
construction, Gents converted to Ladies temporary . Sorry for any
inconvenience caused . ''
About a second
later, Kris decided to wait outside the Ladies' door and apologise
when she walks out.
And the waiting
begins.....
''Hey Kris !
What are you standing there like a tree for ? '' Saren called
out.
''Crap, i didn't
notice the fallen sign when i was going in to bathe , then i saw a
half-naked guy who was actually a girl . Now I'm waiting for her to
come out to apologise to her '' Kris replied
''Oh , you mean
THAT girl , You know, she always seems to come at the same time as
you, yet its amazing why you two never seem to meet one another
until today ....
Dude ! It's your
chance, she's pretty! '' Saren joked
''Ah shut up
dumbbloke . You are distracting me, i don't wanna miss her '' Kris
whispered fiercely.

'' Okay. She's
coming. Good luck Bro . '' and Saren sped off in the direction of
the pool .
As Kris stood
alone there, he wondered what would be the reaction of that girl
when she saw him standing beside the door .
Millions of
scenario were just flashing through his mind and only stopped when
she stood in front of him.
She was
expressionless.

began .
He stopped, it
was only then Kris had a real good look at the girl and he realised
that she looked real cute.
All of a sudden
,she turned and ran away .
He realised she
dropped a torn piece of paper as she was running away .
As he picked up
the paper, he read the words haphazardly scrawled on the piece of
paper ....
'' John , I am
going to kill myself...
Christina''
Without
thinking, Kris threw the paper aside and chased after this girl who
called herself Christina.....

The girl who called herself Christina stopped and turned to face
Kris.
Upon seeing the piece of paper, she walked towards Kris and
snatched the paper out of his hands and sped off again.
''Why are you going to kill yourself ? '' Kris had finally chased
up to her.
'' Who are you ? Get lost idiot '' Christina grumbled .
'' But i just wanted to help you . . . '' Chris pleaded .
''Fine ! '' Christina had stopped under a huge tree and sat down
abruptly .
'' Take a seat dummy, aren't you going to help me? ''
Kris sat down beside her .
'' Christina.. actually life....'' He began .
'' I am not Christina , dummy . My name is Katy , pronounced as
Kat-ti . What's yours ? ''
'' Er... i'm Kris , pronounced as Chris , spelled as K-r-i-s

'' So you are not going to kill yourself ? '' Kris questioned

Drama Club in school ! '' Christina laughingly said .
'' I am sorry ! Just now at the bathroom... ' Kris whispered in an

' Ya , its actually called the Legend of the Lone Tree , it says
that this tree is able to record down everything that has happened
in your past relationships with your loved ones , and that a couple
who kisses under it at night, will be forever together... because
the tree does not wish for it's visitors to be lonely.. just like
itself . ''
''Interesting... have you heard about the legend of My Bed too? Its
so warm and .... '' Kris asked .
'' Trying to be funny right... ? '' Katy rebutted , and Kris earned
a punch of the arm from Katy .
They looked at one another then broke into a laughing fit as they
leaned against the tree and looked up towards the blue sky.
Kris felt that there were no more
needs for words , and just like the skies, Kris felt both his and
Katy 's hearts clearing... and Kris and Katy sat there quietly
until the sun set....

Chapter 3 : The
Rain
Or that was that he thought they
would do.... !
'' Plat plat plat plat plat ' The rain was increasing in intensity
by the second , within seconds, even with the tree's shelter, both
Kris and Katy were soaked to the bone .
'' Oh man, what the hell is this ! '' Katy exclaimed
'' Follow me, i know a shelter nearby .Quick ! '' Kris replied
.
They reached a small little pavilion near the entrance of the
swimming pool and saw an old man sitting down. They hurried in and
the old man suddenly said ' Young lad, if i were you i would give
my towel to my girlfriend who is just as wet as myself ! '
Kris looked at the old man and was just about to open his mouth to
tell him that they are not a couple when he received a disapproving
look from that man.
Defeated, he handled over his towel to Katy , who took it with a
big smile on her face .
'' Haha ! '' she whispered so that Kris was the only one who could
hear her .
Kris shot Katy a dirty look and upon hearing that old man coughing,
immediately turned back to look for dry clothes , and realised Katy
was trying to contain her laughter .
'' Hey young lad, would u mind sitting down with your girlfriend
and listen to what I have to say ?''
''Ye..'' Kris started
'' Of course not ! '' Katy cut in suddenly and totally drowned what
Kris said .
Kris felt that there was nothing he
could do but to play along with Katy, and sat down beside her
Kris felt something hard poking him .
He opened his eyes slowly and jumped when what he saw was his
mother's furious expression
' Ah boy ! What are you doing here alone ! See la ! Always sleep so
late ! Tonight you are sleeping at 10 P.M ! Let's go home now !
Going call police if still cannot find u already... ! 16 years old
still cannot take care of yourself ! '

When Kris was fully conscious , he realised that the rain had
stopped and it was already very dark .
He stood up and realised that
Katy was gone and that her script was clasped tightly in his
hands....

Script

It was already the fifth time Kris
felt his mind wandering to Katy, the girl who had left him only at
the pavillion today, with only her crumpled script left behind ,
and is now laid on Kris' table .
Kris took the script and turned it
over and over in his hands, wondering exactly why Katy had left
only this script behind , of all other things possible .
Frustrated , Kris threw the paper
aside and tried to focus on his chemistry revision .
'' Eh... what's that ! Why didn't I
see it before.. ! '' Kris wondered, as he quickly reached out for
that scrap of paper .
'' It's gone now.. weird...''
Kris brought the paper under the
light, and to his utter amazement, he saw faint pencil markings,
which have been erased away....
'' What the... Katy you.. ! '' Kris
muttered , exasperated , and yet, there was a feeling akin to a
flower blooming, right inside his heart...
Kris squinted and wrote down the
erased words .
It read '' Hello dummy ! If you see
this message then you are either very clever or very lucky !

with excitement, Kris picked up his phone and keyed in

to happen , and for it to happen in front of Katy....
