Working in Stoke, England

Country Boy SG

I had submitted my resume to a famous British betting firm based in Stoke, England and the employment is subjected to my availability to work in Stoke. The one-way trip by air will be paid for but housing and accomodation will be on my own.

I would love to work in a beautiful place in Europe especially where everyone speaks English like England. Of course I'm a huge football fan and I will get a chance to attend big Premier League and European matches! The nice weather and taking occasional road trips to France or Italy! There are so many things I love about Europe!

However, I still have no idea how much money I need in order to settle down in the UK, what kind of procedures I must go through and what to expect working and living in England especially for a Singaporean(costs of living included).

I need to know various details before I accept their job offer. Thanks for your answers!

if the job is safe where you dont lose an arm or leg or life,,,,,,,then tat job is ok.

not just any job will do, if u any how accept any job then u either will be enslaved or lose part of you or life.common sense.best to setup a thriving safe and decent business....

the daughter of bettng firm is the boss.family business.im sure the yakuzas r out recruiting folks for their betting house too....runned by the Gojima or some family.

just be careful when deaing ith these areas...its the devils toys and playthings.

why not become a hitman???im sure as a hitman u dont go around accepting any job be it in europe or some exotic location.if u anyhow accept in those conditions then life will only get more difficult if u don know how to get out of sticky situ .

if its technician ...then its ok.its a safe job.just dont do the same job as an uneducated gang member no matter how well they are dressed.or if they try to con u by giving u a technician job but end up u help out the gangsters do their dirty jobs...then....no point you even werk there,,by then its already too late n they probably wont let u go without killing u.

its a gambling house or betting house.they bet on $$$$$ without doing anything!!!what sort of people do u expect to be your supervisor??its obvious the guy at the top supervising u wont be a masters degree or even be an o level holder.its not a job in a factory or high tech place where everyone have an educated mindset.in places like these betting house...they would do anything for anyones nickels n dimes.

go build a business.....if u want real $$$.u not going to get much working in places like those.

u must think all jobs are safe like yours by pushing a pencil n walking around!

just because your job is safe doesnt mean all jobs are safe .im not even talking about workplace politics but the basic workplace enviroment.

i have watched documentaries on people coming to oz to werk.one guy was an arab n they called him tiger of sahara because he was a body builder and was capable of bending steel bars with bare hands .then he immigrated over to oz,they made him work or overworked and didnt guide him until he fell down the stairs carrying a load of shit.he became crippled waist down almost the same year he came to oz .so now he unable to walk or pang sai on his own.

one has to be careful.if there are no safe jobs....switch off the radio or internet and make your own jobs.make sure they are profitable too.

You are ambitious, which, WITHIN REASONABLE BOUNDS, does good rather than harm. (Abraham Lincoln)

In a word, I would not take any risk of being entangled upon the river, like an ox jumped half over a fence, and liable to be torn by dogs, front and rear, without a fair chance to gore one way or kick the other. (Abraham Lincoln)

It is assumed that labor and education are incompatible; and any practical combination of them impossible. According to that theory, a blind horse upon a tread-mill, is a perfect illustration of what a laborer should be -- all the better for being blind, that he could not tread out of place, or kick understandingly. According to that theory, the education of laborers, is not only useless, but pernicious, and dangerous. In fact, it is, in some sort, deemed a misfortune that laborers should have heads at all. (Abraham Lincoln)

Every man is proud of what he does well; and no man is proud of what he does not do well. With the former, his heart is in his work; and he will do twice as much of it with less fatigue. The latter performs a little imperfectly, looks at it in disgust, turns from it, and imagines himself exceedingly tired. The little he has done, comes to nothing, for want of finishing. (Abraham Lincoln)
