Hi! I've recently received my A' level results and to be honest,
it sucks balls enough that I can't be admitted into a local
uni.
I've been keen on studying psychology and after doing a thorough
research, I found that it costs 64k SGD for 3 years to obtain a
degree in SIM. It's one of the more costly courses, 'cause I
clicked on others (eg business, banking, marketing etc) and they
were only 19k-25k SGD for 3 years.
Moreover, I heard that getting a degree in Singapore won't
qualify you to be a registered psychologist, at most maybe a school
counsellor (where you deal with kids who aren't doing their work
etc) earning maybe 1.7k SGD? That would suck really bad,
considering how SG has such a high cost of living I can just die. I
don't think other private unis offer a more recognized degree than
SIM already, like James Cook and Kaplan.
Need to get a Masters to be a registered psychologist but the
only other cheapest alternative is to go to Australia for your
Masters, but I'm afraid an SIM cert (Uni of Buffalo) isn't
recognised by the unis in Aust? That won't entitle me to undertake
their Masters programme. But the school fees there are like 30k SGD
per year (just for bachelor's degree) and living expenses 10k SGD
per year.
Life sucks when you don't have the brains, tuition fees for
psychology in local unis are around 6k SGD.
So Perth anyone? Very keen on finding mates who are gonna study
there! :)
