I had DirecTV, up until about 2007. I dropped them because they started to increase the number of stupid fees and surcharges tacked on to my bill, such that I was eventually paying over $40/month for a supposed $29.99/month service package.

i was with verizon previously...but always alot of nonsense fees and charges...and they do it quite sneakily too.

now my current rental...landlord uses comcast which he is paying. apparently he gets some special senior citizen rate which he claims to be quite attractive....but i don't get FOX...can't watch my MOST FAV tv series Dexter *sob*

Thanks for the feedback. DirecTV offered me quite a nice deal. When I talked to my current provider, they told me I have another 6 months to go on my contract. However, they worked with me and lowered my bill by $30 bucks. It's $15 more a month than DirecTV but I was appreciative and accepted their offer. While we like their UVerse service, it's gotten pricey hence my shopping around.
