I'm thinking for those make it to States or now applying for
green card, is it much tougher than australia and canada?
Seems like it took longer and one need to engage a lawyer
too.

1. employment based
2. family based. (marriage, siblings etc)
3. DV lottery.

time as well, different classes, priorities, work load of your
local processing center. But to give you an idea, it can range as
short as 3 months to 10 years.
