We Singaporeans like to think of ourselves as serious foodies,
especially when it comes to local Singapore cuisine.
However, I've lately been thinking that if I were ever to move
from the US, where I've been staying for awhile, I'd have serious
cravings for food I've been having here too. I guess it'll be a
case of "damned if you do, damned if you don't".
My list of top dishes I would crave if I ever left the US would
be:
1. Cajun food - Gumbo, etouffe, andouille, beignettes
2. Mexican - Enchiladas, flautas, carne asada, puffy tacos, tres
leches!
3. Misc. - Lobster rolls from New England, crabcakes from
Maryland, Brisket-links-ribs from Texas, and most importantly,
American desserts in general!
Does anyone else have dishes that they're already accustomed to
overseas?
