Looking at your attitude towards life and intelligence, I can't say
you have done any better than me.
Since when I said they are higher risk?
Don't misunderstand the issues at hand, this
is all about Apple pricing their products, the tariffs or GST that
the government imposes does not go into Apple's pocket, hence
no effect on the pricing policies of Apple. When Apple price their
products, they do so because of risk and cost structure.
Differential pricing is right, I do not disagree with
that fact, but why do they engage in differential
pricing?
1) Government does a "dirty float" (managed foreign exchange
intervention), which increases the currency risk.
2) With the increase currency risk, Apple has to price it's
product higher to get a return that's equivalent to the risk. You
do understand the concept of risk and returns don't you?
So which point do you disagree with me? Point 1) or 2)?
Or
You disagree just for the sake of disagreeing.
If you have a better explanation on why Apple price it's ipod
the way it did, I am willing to listen.
Yes Europe has a higher cost of living, but what is their GDP
per capita. Same as Singapore or higher? Why not just compare
prices with Hong Kong or Australia, which have similar GDP per
capita? You earn a poor Singaporean's wage and you want to live in
Switzerland. Isn't it kind of foolhardy?
What's to be done? Float the currency, isn't it all too obvious.
Let the free market decide what the
equilibrium exchange rate should be, instead of suppressing the
Singapore Dollar and increasing the rate of inflation.
So back to the tree falling on the car.
Sure, don't trim the overgrown branches of
the tree in your garden. If it should rot and fall on a passerby or
car, see if they have a case of tort with you. What would be your
defence? Act of god like the foreign exchange?
Seriously, if I was born in another equivalent country like
Australia or New Zealand, I could have achieve much more. I can't
say the same for you though, always requiring
constant supervision from your P4P nanny, making this and that
decision for you. Do you even have the independence to think for
yourself?
cool, did you spend the whole night thumping the keyboard to
write that passage ? ...
since you choose to use ipod from the basket of goods to
illustrate the higher costs of living, I now ask you for the THIRD
time ... who would be responsible for setting the price of
ipods
1. the goverment
2. apple corp
this is important, because of your attitude of pinning
everything to the goverment, let me expand the tree branches and
light bulbs example that encapsulates your attitude perfectly
....
oh dear, tree branches fell onto my car, farking hell, goverment
never ensure it's trimmed properly ...walk on the pavement, slip
and fell on banana skin, farking hell, bangla never clean properly,
goverment's fault .... children turned out stupid, only know how to
hold up hands at traffic light, dunno how to watch traffic, teacher
never teach, goverment's fault (that's just shutterbug's kids btw)
... car got into accident, farking hell, goverment let too many
cars onto the road, goverment's fault ... can't get a wife or gf
because too busy at work ? goverment's fault for a busy society lor
... can't afford to have kids ? goverment's fault not to create a
family oriented work environment, ... indonesia burning forests to
create haze every year, goverment's fault not to do enough to
squeeze the indo's balls ... go out to park stepped on gau sai,
goverment's fault for not cleaning it up ....
I shall not go into blaming the deaths of pet hamsters on the
goverment, but if you look at the examples above, yes, by a stretch
of imagination, everything can be attributed to the goverment .....
but where does your own life and responsibilities begin ? ....
you speak of being able to do better elsewhere ? ... I shall not
ask how come you're still here, but rather ... let's look at what
you've written here
Seriously, if I was born in
another equivalent country like Australia or New Zealand, I could
have achieve much more. I can't say the same for you though, always
requiring constant supervision from your P4P nanny, making this and
that decision for you. Do you even have the independence to think
for yourself?
but I think it is YOU who has the petulant child king attitude,
precisely the sort who requires constant supervision from the nanny
... why ? i'll explain
Cos if you and those like you in here, insist on blaming
everything of your circumstances and well-being on the goverment,
doesn't it sound a lot more like YOU requires constant supervision
and attention, and requires the goverment to smooth and anticipate
and pave your path ahead for you more than I do ? ... who really
needs the goverment more than i do ? ... you, or me ? ... I don't
look to the goverment to anticipate and smooth everything in my
path in life, nor do I blame them for everything under the sun,
unlike you ... think about it, you can't do without supervision,
really... do YOU even have the independence to lead your own
life, to be responsible for your own prosperity and well being,
instead of blaming everything on something or someone else ? ...
looking at what you've been trying to prove, I doubt so ...
and if you look at some of the other people around, there is
such a contrast in attitude, this eagle chap's on a scholarship,
but he's working hard at running his own tuition biz, and plan on
earning big bucks when he's done school, i'm impressed with this
fellow, honeymousie has lived in australia for a decade, she
complains about rising commodities prices, but you don't hear
"fark, it's the goverment's fault, for not doing enough" from her
... fymk here too, lives there, but look at her very last sentence
in the post above, do you see what I mean ? ... you're better off
here, cos I think you'd just be another parasitic immigrant
elsewhere with your attitude, so go on, blame everyone else, just
remember, meanwhile, the race for life goes on .....
