Your priority is acutally the $60k. I believe its payable in few instalments? Not everything at one shot. You only need to show proof that you can pay for the 1st semester. ie. maybe a 20k bank draft bring over to Oz? Check with your U on the amount need to show.

40k accomodation is kinda too much. You planning to stay in a mansion and drive a brand new bmw? Eat lobster everyday?

Wit it down to 10k, and keep maybe another 10k on standby for emergencies for two years.

Some parents got insurance for their kids? Talk to them to ask whether it can be cashed out for your studies.

Then check with your clans for grants/sponsorships, they usually have maybe a few k available for their clan kids going for further studies.

And if you family is active in grassroots or temples. Check for any such grants thru there.

The rest is bank loans, but maximum 2 months of your salary if you ever worked. So if possible, work a few months or a year will help you secure some bank loan.

Then its your parents to try to generate funds, thru their savings, bank loans for you and maybe even a credit line. Or your sibs to help out.

Make some sacrifices, clear out your room, and let your parents rent it out. Save the rental for you.

Now I could be wrong, but playing the averages, your attitude towards school implies that you're somewhat less than a straight-A student. That being the case, forget scholarships, forget deferments, forget anything that your average student would not be granted.

On top of that, you're not a gazillionaire either by your won rights or by family association. Also, nobody would be so stupid as to loan you money knowing that the money's going to be used for you to blow town. Besides, given the questions you're asking, it's doubtful that you would know what collateral is, much less have any to put up against your loan.

Bottom line: there ain't nuthin you can do, son. Suck it up, finish your NS, possibly finish JC/Pre-U/poly and then think about going overseas to finish your studies - hopefully by that time you'll have scraped up the dosh to afford the tuition and living costs, which would be in the neighbourhood of 30 grand a year if you spend carefully.

Reality's harsh, but you may as well get used to it instead of hurting yourself living in dreamland.

Let me elaborate the rent out bedroom thingy.

Fren was lucky and was often stay in at the camp after his bmt. He had the family rent out his bedroom and he sometimes goes home to wash his clothers and sleep on the living room floor, he was too tall and his legs wont fit onto the sofa. The camp has rooms and beds plus makan so he saved on those.

G/f was a legal studies poly grad, she worked for 2 years and save 1 year saving on food, her salary & no entertainment and borrows 10k from her parents to go to Oz.

In Oz, she shares a room with a fren that was already in Oz, pays rent, eat bread, tongpang on fren's cars to go sightseeing.

If you cannot save on the tuition fees, you need to save on the living expenses. 2nd year of studies maybe can let you work part time, so you need to consider doing such work to keep you staying in Oz.

First i need to complete ATLEAST foundation year programme in oz.So i atleast need $$ to complete fyp first.After i finished that then i may consider army.After i finished army i will get enough $$ like you said to go university in australia.Is that fair enough now?

Sigh, you dont get it.

There is no 'May' regards to doing your NS.

You want to do your foundation year programme in Oz. Must return to Sg to do NS or your parents forfeit the 70 +k for your NS.

Which also means, you will be arrested at airports for when you dont return for your NS.

After the army, you work and hopefully get enough $$$ to go back to Oz to start your degree. You need to check that FYP has expiry dates. You dont go back to Oz for a few years. You need to do FYP again. Check your courses you are eligible to take and whats the conditions.

Fair or not? Who am I to say. I didnt do any degrees, and I didnt use any parents money for courses the moment I step out of 'o' levels stage. Technically, I paid my school fees since Sec 2 because I was working part time then.

And as the above for technoboy, you can consider those loan options, or work your way to your goal.

Though 'o' level grads will take a much longer time to reach that kinda pay and saving capabilities.

Not sure what holster it was - borrowed it and the weapon from a mate of mine down at the range.

And yes, it's a Rolex Sea Dweller. It's been occupying my wrist 95% of the time for the last 4 years.

Then what do you intend to do? Even if you work, it's going to take you a helluva longer than two years to get the collateral you need for the loan in the first place.

To be blunt, if you're so desperate to get out of Sungapore as it is, pardon me if I take your assurances of returning to serve your NS with a large pinch of salt.

Your most straightforward option is to get your NS over with ASAP. Your parents don't have the resources for yout to do fyp, so you're pretty much stuck there. Either geth them to take a loan out for you, or work for the money. Either way, nobody's going to loan a 16-year-old kid a few tens of thousands with no collateral or any form of security.

That reminds me of one of my ex-classmates who was a Filipino PR. After Sec 4 he went back to Manila and disappeared, and I didn't hear from him until I was halfway through my NS. He called me up one day and said he was back in town. I said, "Great, let's catch up for a beer". He said, "No can do - I'm at the airport and I've got an MP here waiting to take me to begin my BMT".

Oh, by the way sadboy, there is one other thing: you're not only to have a challenge from the Singaporean side of things, but you're also going to have to prove your financial stability on the Australian end. Right now it's a landlord's market, and if you can't prove that you've got the dough to pay the rent, you're not going to be able to find a place to stay.

what is the minumum requirement to enter top australian unversities such as monash , National university of australia, university of melbourn??
i am currently studying in nyp
was thinking of getting an overseas education if i could not get into local unis
is a gpa of 3.5 good enough to enter top australian universities??
