The family and I will forgo turkey again this year for chicken.
Can't stand turkey meat, takes too long to cook too. Would be nice
if we could drive up to Seattle to be with family this year but gas
prices are too high still and times are tough.
That aside, anyone here has grand plans for Thanksgiving?
What? No turkey?? That's beyond sacrilege! Thanksgiving without
turkey is like... like... Thanksgiving without turkey!!
(Okay, so I suck at metaphors!)
As for my Thanksgiving plans, my former college roommate, Frank,
is flying up from Huntsville to spend that week with me. Weather
permitting, we'll probably spend a day up along the north shore of
Lake Superior in the club plane (which I currently have reserved
for all of Wednesday, so the bloody weather had better
cooperate!!!).
Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, will as usual be spent with the
family of a very close friend whom I've known since I came to
Minnesota in '91. He's invited me to his house every year for
Thanksgiving since I got here.
We'll probably throw in a visit to the indoor gun range on
Friday, then we have a couple of mutual friends driving up from
Iowa during the weekend, and the four of us plan to take in a
Vikings game at the Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis on
Sunday.
That's about it, really.
