The greatest earthquake of Chinese history estbegan at 14:58, May
12,2008 ,with its centre in southwestern China and its wave
affecting all over China and countries around.
The earthquake was identified as 8.0 magnitude and
the damaged area more than 100 000 sq.km. five times of 27 000. 50
000 people is estimated to die of this earthquake. The number maybe
is less than the true. Now 32477 people have been proved to be dead
and 220109 hurt.
Chinese army was soon started up to the aid
the victims and up to now more than 100 000 soldiers have entered
the damaged area. The international aid groups have also arrived
there ,including the Japanese professional aid group. Every Chinese
are donating their money and blood ,and the international donation
is also going on . Human being always unites so strongly when faced
with disaster.
May 19 , May 20, May 21 are difinted as
Memorial Day .During the three days China will half lower its
national flag including every Chinese office abroad. For three
minute following 14:58, May 19, all sirens in China will work.
