As I was watching this last night, I was half tearing, half smiling. I have to tell you that the yearning to return home peaks every time I see anything about Sg food on US tv. I DVR'd it so that I can torture myself again and again. Embarassed Laughing

However, after watching the episode, I had one burning question: How come I've never had Tulang before?

The show does bring a smile. I invited co-workers and friends to watch and they are now very intrigued by the food culture in Singapore. And now, we are known as pple who has an opinion about eating. Laughing

However, I do think that Tony wasted time filming in Aurum. The new-age food idea is splendid but not the hospital theme. Let's see how long this restaurant can last.

I was just about to ask about that hospital restaurant. What the...?!? Laughing Where is it? I would love to visit that restaurant, Straits something-or-other that was featured. Bet it's expensive.

But you know what I was most intrigued by? That Tian Tian chicken rice shop. I was busy taking notes. I can make chicken rice from scratch but I am always on the lookout to continually improve the taste.

Aurum @ Clarke Quay. Owned by Edward Voon, a top chef from Penang. Fusion. Science of food, whatever you want to call it. But seriously. Using wheel chairs to eat? That's just insensitive IMO.

Straits Cafe is located inside Grand Hyatt, I believe. The concept is great for introducing friends to Singapore cuisine w/o having to scout around the island for food.

The chicken rice however is quite debatable. Apparently, that's what Makansutra listed as top ten. I am sure there are others just as good. Wink

Naw....really? Smile You seem to miss Singapore quite a bit there. Are you obligated to be here for a while or there is a foreseeable near future you will return?

Btw, we make CR from scratch too. Can you get fresh pandan leaves in SD?

I do miss Sg alot. My life is here so I'll be here forever. Maybe that's why I miss Sg? And I haven't visited Sg since Dec 04.

Re: pandan leaves. I haven't really looked. I shop at 99 Ranch once a month. I'll really really look next visit.
