You might find a smattering of foreign students at the
universities in TN, but once you venture out of the campus, there's
no mistaking that you're in a very "white" portion of the country
where the folks are very religious and conservative. They might not
be the most open-minded of people, but they're certainly friendly
and accommodating.
Oh, and if a southern drawl irritates you, you might want to give
that area a miss.
