jetta SG I was at work yesterday and met a customer who's originally from Malaysia. We got to talking and found out that we live just around the corner from each other. She ended up inviting me to a Christmas Eve dinner. Some of her other Malaysian pals are bringing food. Rendang!!! Sambal!!!! I'm there!!!!! *cue music: It's beginning to look alot like Christmas...*
jetta SG Shiok right? I can't wait. There is a Singapore/Malaysia club here. I've attended a couple of their get-togethers but... haven't met anyone there I have a kinship with. They are kinda clique-ish. I can't wait for Christmas Eve.
jetta SG You siao ah. American food where got taste better than Sg food? So where are you heading? TN or CA?
mhcampboy SG aiyah.. i dunno... i sent my application to both san jose and utc....see how it goes... or rather who accepts me first..... but i tink both will laa.. hahha... i see which is the cheapest... but american food got so much variety.... but then.. easy to cook also..
jetta SG If you want the cheaper of the two, I think you'll be heading to TN. California is a super expensive state to live in. Apartment rents are expensive, etc. Anyway, don't want to rain on your parade. San Jose has lots of Singaporeans. My sis has been there for 20 years. Got mahjong kaki lah, makan kaki lah... There's lots of good food there - even a Prima restaurant! So not fair!!!
mhcampboy SG Well cheaper in terms of fees...true.. TN is better.... But but... i want to be with asians also.. tn seems too.. patriotic americans kinda city
jetta SG I know what you mean. I always tell the hubster, I don't want to live in an area where when people ask where's the nearest Chinatown, neighbours will point to our house. Heng ah, that's never happened.
Meia Gisborn SG Yup. I'm sure rendang and sambal are time-honored staples at the dinner table during Christmas.
