SpeedStar SG I am going to downtown chicago this weekend. Any of u guys have recomendation to those must go places?
Arapahoe SG Que up for opera winfrey show. be a live audience. ja ja ja I que up for Dr Phil live audience. its an experience. hopefully u get the christmas goody show where they give u everything.
SpeedStar SG Haiz, my colleague want to be back in the evening before the show starts. Maybe I can see that one of this days when i can drive myself...
Meia Gisborn SG Oooohhh... Chicago. One of my favourite cities in the US. Even seriously considered moving there after I finished grad school some years back. In no particular order: Museum of Science and Industry Shedd Aquarium and Oceanarium Lincoln Park Zoo Art Institute of Chicago Sears Tower Hancock Center Field Museum Navy Pier And if you have time and the appetite, ask around for recommendations for restaurants that serve Chicago-style deep dish pizza. If you've never had pizza where the layer of cheese was at least an inch thick, you've never really lived!

I hear of navy pier and maybe we will add in one of the item in our itenary list. What I actually hope is to watch a NBA match when the season starts...hahahahaha
littlestream SG enjoy your trip, speedstar. i've been there but with a tour bus. and that was like in the late 90s so forgot liao. but remembered going to this town, i tink german town or something. and yah, that sears tower. eh, bring jacket hor. it ain't call the windy city for nothing okay.
rainee SG Yea, it is cold! Esp this time of the year~ I think I have mentioned some of the interesting one inside my PM to you...I think chicago is a nice city for you to sit inside a coffee shop and drink coffee while watching the city unfolds in front of your eyes Can go chinatown if you want to eat dim sum, I can suggest quite a nice one for you...it is called 3 happiness if I am not wrong Navy Pier is a must...but again it is very cold when you go near Lake Michigan...
rainee SG Yup, I used to study in Illinois Oh yea, you can visit University of Chicago, heard the view inside is pretty nice...
SpeedStar SG ya lar, no choice, and I heard its more colder than boise. And the best part is I will be here till christmas. PUI!
SpeedStar SG My colleague told me he did not heard of that place before. We will surely visit chinatown when we r there.
littlestream SG wah, stay so long ah? liddat, u shd make a trip to toronto. once u come here, u wouldn't wanna go back. or actually, u won't believe this is ang moh country. i tink 8 hours drive. not sure. but many students (some s'poreans) living in ohio make frequent trips to toronto to stock up on chinese non-parisable food.
rainee SG There's also a Malaysian restaurant in Chinatown, called Penang There can eat things like nasi lemak and roti prata, but be prepared to spend a lot. One plate of Yong Chow fried rice costs me like USD 15 (inclusive of tax I think)
SpeedStar SG tornoto? Hahahahaha, I have been told that the weather is 100 times worse than here (ok lar, exaggerated abit). The car might not be able to start the next morning during winter times.... But I have been told there is alot of chinese there, which means I can get to see alot of chinese girls around there, unlike here. This is the only facotr that will draw me to there
SpeedStar SG Oh yes, this one has been mention by my colleague here. In fact my colleagues are from penang and they told me they offer one of the best laska in chicago. Taste close to the one in penang.
jetta SG Aiyoh Uncle. So excited for you! You finally get to leave beautiful Idaho for the big city. Congrats! I've never been but from what I hear, the winters there are horribly cold and windy so go prepared. The food is yummy from what I see on the Food Network. There is a famous cheesecake there (forgot the name, sorry). Pictures hor.
SpeedStar SG Thks auntee! This place is totally different from what I have imagine. But however its still has something different to offer than boise...and that is bak ku teh!!! They sold bah ku teh here!!!
jetta SG Uncle, do you yahoo? My msn is kaput and I don't want it anymore, anyway. I thought you were heading back to Sg? Anyway, this is more exciting. Again, I'm so excited for you. Is your Indian friend going with you too? Have you started apartment hunting, etc? Your Taurus how? Leaving it in Boise or driving it there?
