Hot air, like ministerial salaries in Singapore, always rises,
and it's invariably going to be warmer upstairs than downstairs,
especially when the thermostat controlling the a/c is located
downstairs. It's the same in my house, and I've partially gotten round that problem by
closing all the a/c vents downstairs and leaving the ones upstairs
open.
