some schools have dat requirement...like mine does...first sem
students have to stay in halls to get acquainted with the school
and its culture i guess...then u can move out to your own house or
apts after the first sem...
but i ended up living in dorms for my 4 years there...tho during my
3rd year, I decided to do without the dorm food 
And if u have to stay in dorm, hopefully u will get a good
roomie...my first year roomie was a nightmare!
