lol i went to google and bing and yahoo

query 1 search : glassfish.com.sg

google and yahoo result on first page. bing no results <-- haha

query 2 search : glassfish

google and bing didn't get any glassfish.com.sg results (atleast for first 4 page) HOWEVER! yahoo actually showed glassfish.com.sg at first page's 3rd result!!!!!

so TS are you thinking what i am thinking? same thing we do everyday, trying to takeover the cheese!

ok, I missed the part of their trade mark that they also do web design

but their trade mark is still pending while your coy has already been up and running for some time.

you should get someone to inform the trade mark office that sunmicro is infringing on your coy before the tm is approve

Hi.. Thanks guys... I will keep all of you guys updated on the progress of this case... When I meet the lawyers in abit.. I will let you know what are their opinions are as well... All of us aren't lawyers, so no choice have to get some real standing views on how to handle this issue...

Hopefully there is a good amicable settlement between my company and theirs... I heard they got bought over by oracle though... hmmm

Hi I just consulted my lawyers and their opinion and big guesses are Sun Microsystems are up to intimidate us with a letter since we are such a small company... Same opinions that I got here as I got from them... If they want the website, they should pay... Nobody gets confused between a product and a company... So they better have a good case against us...

Apart from that I would also like to thank bananaCoke for bringing to our attention that our site is actually very valuable because in a typical search of glassfish, it comes up top 3 in Yahoo.com....

According to a recent eWeek article (4/19/2006):

Glassfish server has been around for more than a year, 2 or 3 if I remember correctly. Thing is, even though u are a singaporean company with a singaporean website, there will still be some measure of protection for Sun due to Singapore's FTA with the US. Part of the FTA was regarding intellectual property if I remember correctly.

Get a new domain name. Try something like glassfishdesigns.com.sg

Yup... We are actually in the midst of updating our site... So there are quite a number of things that had to be taken down to be improved...

We don't mind changing the site... But to give them everything so valuable for free is the issue here.. After consulting with our lawyers, if Sun Microsystems really feel they have a strong case, let them bring it to our doors. We will go through this all the way with them...

However we do really hope we can settle this peacefully and come up with a fair settlement. That would really help both parties and mitigate legal costs as well... But then again, Sun Microsystems being a huge MNC, could do what they want since they have huge budgets for things like that.. But whatever it is, we won't be going down without a fight... or an amicable settlement/agreement....

Actually it is closer to 4 years, since GlassFish started in 2005. However,GlassFish was not registered as a product until March this year.

Well product or not... This will not do... They can't just budge in, register a trademark infringing on my rights and demand us to do silly things for them.. Its ridiculous!

We are really saddened by what Sun Microsystems is trying to do... Intimidate and take our domain for free..
